PIONEER Workshop AI for PMs: Automate. Augment. Assist.

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore how AI technologies, in particular generative AI, can support and elevate the role of the project manager. The workshop will start with a short and clear introduction to (Gen)AI. 

Through a card-based exercise developed by Bart Briers, each team will be challenged to match specific AI “bots”, each representing a unique capability with key PMBOK processes. The goal: identify where AI can be used to automate, augment, or assist project work.

This session strengthens participants’ understanding of PMBOK 8 while introducing them to the practical application of GenAI, from basic automation to advanced decision support, making it both a learning experience and a forward-looking strategy session.

• Gain a foundational understanding of (Generative) AI
  • Participants will learn the core concepts, terminology, and capabilities of AI and GenAI, explained in simple, accessible terms for project management professionals.

  • Using the PMBOK 8 framework, participants will identify opportunities where AI can enhance project delivery by automating routine tasks, augmenting decision-making, and assisting in complex project scenarios.
• Strengthen familiarity with the PMBOK 8 process-based approach
  • The workshop reinforces knowledge of PMBOK 8 while positioning it as a modern, adaptable guide in the age of digital transformation.
