Innovator Workshop: Maximizing project success and delivering the Paris Agreement - supported by AI
Our purpose as PMI members is to "maximize project success to elevate our world".
PMI's definition of project success is to “deliver value that justifies the cost and effort of the project".
This presentation will leverage material published via PMIstandards+™ to explain metrics for delivering this value - in financial terms as well as environmental terms.
Taking this broad view of value will be increasingly important for project professionals as we work to meet the emissions targets of the Paris Agreement, and the organizations that we work for seek to deliver their "net-zero" obligations at the same time as delivering financial value for their shareholders.
Making this transition will be eased by leveraging well established techniques from financial analysis and supported by AI.
Learning goals summary:
Attendees should learn the following by attending the session:
- Net Present Value (NPV) is a powerful metric to calculate value delivered vs. project cost and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is a great metric for the rate of value delivery.
- "Elevating our world" goes beyond financial matters, and NPV, IRR can also be applied as non-financial metrics.
- As project professionals we need to prepare ourselves to support our organizations, and society, towards "net zero" CO2 emissions to meet the Paris Agreement targets and AI can help us.
